We are honored to be able to donate $6,000 to the Chattanooga, TN-based nonprofit Bible in the Schools, which funds elective Bible History classes for interested students in public schools.
“Transport Enterprise Leasing is proud to give back to our Chattanooga community by supporting local organizations like Bible in the Schools,” said Jud Alexander, President of TEL.
Since 1922, Bible in the Schools has provided Hamilton County public schools with the funds for students in grades 6-12 to have the opportunity to optionally, and academically, study the Bible in their classrooms, at no cost to taxpayers. “TEL is pleased to support this 100-year-old organization that seeks equal access for public school students from all walks of life and all backgrounds interested in electively studying the Bible, ” Jud added.
The nonprofit’s website notes that “Bible History elective classes in the public schools are an opportunity for students to have a viewpoint neutral, foundational study – at no cost to taxpayers – of one of the cornerstone texts of world history, which helps students become culturally literate and better equipped to thrive and contribute to a global world.”
