Temporary Closure: I-20 West ramp to  I-26 West

Heads-Up for our friends traveling through South Carolina.  There will be a temporary road closure affecting the major I-20/I26 interchange beginning tonight Friday, 8/16/24 at 11pm.

As part of Phase 2 of the Carolina Crossroads Project, SCDOT will temporarily close the I-20 westbound ramp (Exit 64B) onto I-26 westbound beginning 11:00 p.m. today, Friday, August 16, to perform construction. The ramp is expected to be reopened by 5:00 a.m. on Monday, August 19. As part of this closure, a detour will be put in place.  Operators traveling from I-20 Westbound who wish to use Exit 64B to I-26 West, will instead use the clover leaf interchange by continuing along I-20 West and taking Exit 64A onto I-26 East, then taking Exit 107B onto I-20 East, and exiting at 64B onto I-26 West. Message board signs will display detour directions.

Below is a diagram that shows the detour route.  Please plan accordingly for added traffic congestion and delays.  Be on the lookout for other drivers who may be confused as well as those making potential last minute lane changes.
