Delaware Toll Bridge Rate Increases

Starting on September 1, Delaware bridge tolls will increase by 20% for all types of vehicles. This is the first increase in 13 years, which is a result of Delaware seeking funding for infrastructure improvements.

 What does this mean for truck drivers and fleet owners?   For all our friends operating in the Delaware area, traveling in and out of ports, or into and out of the Philly area from Delaware, know that this will impact you.  Tolls on four bridges over the Delaware River are set to increase:  

• Commodore Barry Bridge, connecting Chester, Pennsylvania, and Bridgeport, New Jersey, on Route 322, between I-95 in Pennsylvania and I-295 in New Jersey.
• Ben Franklin Bridge, connecting Philadelphia to Camden, New Jersey on I-676.
• Betsy Ross Bridge, connecting Philadelphia to Pennsauken, New Jersey, on Route 90 between I-95 and Route 130 in New Jersey.
• Walt Whitman Bridge, connecting Philadelphia to Gloucester City, New Jersey, on I-76 between I-95 in Philadelphia and I-676 in New Jersey.

The Delaware Memorial Bridge between Delaware and South Jersey, however, will not be affected by these price increases.  Current rates for 5-7 axle trailers on Toll Bridges are between $25 and $35 (source https://www.drjtbc.org/currenttolls), but these are expected to increase by 20% come this September.
